Eleanor Buckley

Working in partnership with Vinnumálastofnum on the UAV project, which provides housing for applicants for international protection, I am responsible for the security of the premises and the residents, and day to day maintenance of the building:

• Maintaining high levels of alertness throughout shifts and responding calmly to alarms, emergencies, and disturbances.
• Primarily working individually, while also acting as a liason between relevant stakeholders such as government agencies, building owners, Öryggismiðstoðin and residents.
• Developing and maintaining security and safety procedures, inspecting the premises for fire hazards, unsafe conditions, or unauthorized persons.
• Maintaining security logs to ensure proper documentation.

As the General Manager at Brewdog Reykjavík, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bar and restaurant and ensuring the successsful operation of the business:

• Led a team of employees, including two shift managers, fostering a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and collaboration among staff members;
• Developed and implemented employee training programs to enhance customer service skills and product knowledge;
• Managed purchasing and inventory, streamlining operations by improving inventory management systems and building strong relationships with suppliers and distributors.

As an Assistant Manager at Kaldi, I played a key role in supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the business:

• I supervised and trained staff members, ensured the smooth running of the establishment and ensuring excellent customer service;
• Handled customer complaints or issues in a stressful environment while maintaining a positive approach;
• Maintained high attention to detail and standards.
