An established Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry with a special interest in Dementia, Research, and Leadership and Management. I have completed core and higher psychiatry training in Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. I have excelled in my annual appraisals and gained clinical excellence awards for providing high quality, enhanced care. I have completed MRCPsych, MSc Psychiatry and PGCert examinations and commenced a MBA module. Previously I have been the HEKSS Lead HST rep, the RCPsych PTC South East rep and the Associate Editor of ‘The Registrar’ at a national level. I have been involved in QI projects such as setting up a psychodermatology clinic in Brighton which was eventually commissioned as well as being a sub investigator for studies at the Cognitive Research Unit in Sussex.
I have accomplished organisational skills and the aptitude to prioritise effectively, working under pressure. I have led on teams in a variety of service improvement initiatives which have resulted in good outcomes for patients leading to improvements in my department and the Trust. My interpersonal skills are excellent, as well as my ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. As a clinical lead in dementia I took on delegated clinical director responsibilities for a large number of consultants.
